The gears of the tech world grind steadily, turning data into insights, code into convenience, and innovation into reality. Businesses, from scrappy startups to established giants, are racing to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to optimize operations, unlock new possibilities and stay ahead of the curve. But navigating this can be daunting. It requires expertise, resources and a trusted partner to guide the way.
Enter Kyndryl and Amazon Web Services (News – Alert), two renowned tech companies joining forces to form a formidable alliance in the AI and ML arena. Kyndryl, an IT infrastructure services provider, understands the intricate dance between hardware, software and data that powers the modern enterprise. AWS offers a platform that pulsates with the energy of compute, storage and a universe of AI/ML tools. Recently, these two collided in a strategic collaboration agreement, or SCA, poised to reshape the future of AI adoption.
Through the agreement, the two companies plan to establish the Kyndryl and AWS Innovation Factory. This dedicated space will serve as a collaborative hub for the development of industry-specific generative AI and ML solutions.
By tapping into the expertise of Kyndryl’s data scientists and AWS’s AI/ML specialists, the Innovation Factory will generate practical solutions tailored to real-world challenges faced by businesses in sectors like healthcare, finance, manufacturing and retail.
The partnership will also enhance Kyndryl’s capabilities in designing, implementing, migrating and managing AWS cloud services within complex IT environments. This includes offering Kyndryl’s customers access to a wider range of AWS services, optimized for their specific needs and existing infrastructure.
“The expansion of our alliance with AWS fuels Kyndryl’s ability to help customers accelerate the adoption – and maximize the benefit of – generative AI solutions,” said Nicolas Sekkaki, Kyndryl Applications, Data and AI Global Practice Leader. “The collaboration will also help Kyndryl scale its reach and ability to facilitate customers’ digital transformations on AWS through a growing variety of application modernization options.”
Additionally, the SCA will streamline the adoption of generative AI technologies for Kyndryl and AWS customers. This includes providing access to pre-trained generative AI models, tools and best practices. What this means for businesses is that they have an opportunity to jumpstart their AI initiatives and unlock the potential of these powerful technologies.
“Our customers turn to AWS Partners to support them through their cloud migration journey, in optimizing their IT assets to unlock future business growth and identifying how and where to leverage new technologies for maximum business impact,” said Julia Chen, Vice President of Partner Core at AWS. “We are working with Kyndryl to help our shared customers to leverage data to derive AI insights at scale.”
The Kyndryl and AWS SCA is expected to impact the global AI and ML landscape, with potential benefits extending far beyond individual businesses.
For example, Kyndryl and AWS helped reduce the operation costs of Care New England. This resulted in Care New England strengthening its “system’s data security and freeing up valuable time for our staff to focus on providing the highest quality patient care,” said Michael Wagner, MD, President and CEO, Care New England.
By making these technologies more accessible and user-friendly, the partnership has the potential to further transform industries, drive economic growth and create new opportunities for innovation.
